To a degree, yes. Part of me would be happy to be neither right nor wrong, but only a part: I think we are all multi-layered.

Regret is probably the wrong word but sometimes I would rather I wasn't right. This survey is inspired by a situation that happens to me often at work. My clinical knowledge and experience leads me to suspect a sinister underlying diagnosis. I arrange the appropriate investigation and find out I was right. On the one hand, it is satisfying to have put the pieces of the puzzle together. On the other hand, I would often have preferred to have been wrong (as, of course, I am sometimes).

This week, a man came to me with a skin infection and the expectation that he'd be fine after a week or two of antibiotics. He'll be leaving me with a diagnosis of lung cancer and probably less than a year to live. He's a lovely man, and I would very much like to have been wrong.

Not sure. I think I'm prone to having more than one opinion or impression of what might be right. Also, I forget details later. So, it's hard to say if I was right later.

I've wished I wasn't right about something, but not regret... there must be a word for this feeling, but I can't think of it.

LOL. I don't know. I think there might be something to the whole 'ignorance is bliss' thing.
